Michael Stickrod

garden of the gods (2013) was an exhibition by Michael Stickrod at Four Boxes Gallery, Krabbesholm Højskole, Skive, Denmark. The installation brought together sculpture, prints, found and fabricated objects, and other materials developed during Stickrod’s time at Krabbesholm. The exhibition was accompanied by the publication Stones Rise.

Transformer Loop (2013) uses a Transformers trading-card image from the artist’s childhood, transferred to acetate and run through a 16mm projector until the heat of the bulb burns and transforms the image. The destruction is recorded and repeated as an infinite video loop, turning a childhood keepsake into a cycle of deterioration, reproduction, and renewal.
